How to Get Off The Phone

This week our theme is telephone skills. We practised role playing with our classmates. The topics of conversation are "Can I take a message?" and "Would you like to leave a message?". This afternoon I learned how to try to get off the phone. If you do not want to continue the conversation with someone, you can say, "I have an apponitment right now; I got to go" or "I'm so sorry to cut this short. I really have to get going." And you also can say, "I have a call on the other line." There is a very funny but very useful excuse,"nature calls!" Haha, I think nobody can keep talking to you when they hear that. These skills are very useful for me.

LINC Class in MicroSkills

One month ago, I came to attend the LINC class of level 4. All the staff are very nice and patient. If you have any problems, they will try their best to help you. My teacher is very good because he always prepares his lessons carefully and speaks slowly and clearly. So I can follow him easily. I think I have already made some progress here. I will continue my study here to learn more.

Wonderful Concert

On April 23, I went to attend a free concert led by Joseph with my families. And there were some classmates there also. Although it was cold with snowfall and showers, we all felt excited especially my son. He kept asking, "Mom, when is the concert going to start, when?" The audience were almost all old people and elementary school students. One old lady sat by me and chatted with me before the beginning of the concert. She told me it was essential to bring my kid there, because the music can make people peace and joy. The concert was performed by Hamilton Children's Choir & High Park Choir of Toronto in Roy Thomson Hall. The performers were teenagers whose songs sounded amazing. My favourite was the second last song accompanied by the piano, cello, and drum, but I cannot remember its name. We all enjoyed the concert. It was really wonderful! I hope I can get more opportunities to attend such kinds of activities.

Canada is better for kids

My son, Jack, 5-year-old boy, has been in the kindergarten for 2 weeks. I felt it's amazing that he was so happy on his first school day, even he didn't know English at all.
I wondered what made him so happy. He told me that his teachers and classmates are all very nice to him, when he wanted to go to the washroom, his classmate took him there. In the classes, when the teacher told the stories, there were a lot of pictures to be shown, so even he cannot understand what the teachers said, but he can understand what was the meaning .
Last week, Jack visited the nearest fire station with his classmates. When he came back home, he was so excited and told me he sat on the truck wearing the helmet like a real fire man.
I am so glald my boy has enjoyed his school life in Canada, and I wish he will be happy for ever.

My Student life in The LINC Class

I've been Canada for almost 2 months and attended the LINC classes for 2 weeks.

I feel great in these classes, because I knew a lot of classmates who came from different countries with totally different cultures. When I talk with them, I learn a lot about their foods, festivals, histories and so on.
It's very instersting.

Also I like to practise listening, speaking, writting and reading in a funny ways. I am always in a good mood during the class.
